The running team is collecting donations in favour of the foundation, which now wants to help children in Ukraine who are suffering from the war in their country.
The Bundeswehr and Reservists running team is organising a virtual charity run from 26.03.2022 to 10.04.2022 to raise money for the "Stiftung RTL - Wir helfen Kindern e.V." foundation. The "Stiftung RTL - Wir helfen Kindern e.V." was founded in 1997 and since then the organisation has been collecting donations, which are given directly to selected children's aid projects of selected organisations. As RTL pays all administrative, personnel and production costs, all donations collected are used for the realisation of the projects without any deductions.
In view of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia in violation of international law, the focus of the "Stiftung RTL - Wir helfen Kindern e.V." foundation and its partner organisations is on life-saving measures. This includes evacuations, the transport of clean drinking water and the provision of health, hygiene and emergency training materials.
The chairman of the Bundeswehr and Reservists running team, Major General Gert Nultsch, and the patron of the RTL Run, Major General Werner Albl, are confident that many running enthusiasts will once again take part in this charity run.
Runners can complete distances of 5, 10, 15, 21 or 42 kilometres. Furthermore, any distance can be walked and a children's run over one kilometre is also offered. The standard entry fee is ten euros, five euros for the children's run. Registration takes place via the website https://bundeswehrundreservisten.de/ and is possible from 6 March 2022.
