Russian warships in the Red Sea

At the end of March, warships from the Russian Pacific Fleet also entered the Red Sea from Bab-el-Mandeb, as reported by the Russian state news agency Tass.

The ships in question are the missile cruiser "Varyag" (Hull No. 011, 186 metres, Slava class) and the destroyer "Marshal Shaposhnikov" (Hull No. 543, 163 metres, Udaloy class). The tasks assigned to both ships and the final destination of the formation were not mentioned in the report, nor was the reason for the deployment. Both ships have since met up with the landing ships sent from the Northern and Baltic fleets to the eastern Mediterranean and have resupplied in Tarus/Syria. Allegedly, both battleships are to sail on to the Caribbean and visit friendly states there - Cuba and Venezuela can probably be considered on this list. Both - Caribbean voyages and landing capacity in the eastern Mediterranean - should be kept a close eye on these days.

Although the Houthis had promised China and Russia unhindered passage for their merchant ships through the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, missiles exploded near a ship carrying Russian oil and a missile was fired at the Chinese-owned oil tanker "Huang Pu", according to the US Central Command.

All these events show only one thing: despite the supposed "agreement", shipping in the waters off Yemen is still at risk - even for "friends", because even Iran cannot really control the Houthis. The sorcerer's apprentice sends his regards!
