The Shark Hunt 21 manoeuvre has been underway in the North Atlantic since 23 July. Together with partners from Canada and the United Kingdom, the US armed forces are practising searching for and combating submarines. Under the leadership of Captain John D. Craddock, Commodore CTF 69, the crews of four surface ships, three submarines and seven aircraft are expanding their capabilities in the complex field of submarine hunting. Also on board is the American destroyer Roosevelt the Arleigh-Burke-class. "Coordination across multiple domains and nations strengthens our ability to ensure transatlantic maritime security, deter and, if necessary, deny access to the sea," Captain Craddock emphasised the importance of the exercise.
