The future of the German Navy: The sum of the whole

This was on our minds as we tried to put things in order with regard to the German Navy and the upcoming challenges (international situation, development of the defence budget and recruitment). On the one hand, you often find new ideas in old files, and on the other, the course must be charted for the long term - regardless of sudden and abrupt changes in the weather. Bold suggestions - even on these pages - often fail in the face of reality.

"Every ship has its time", as the saying goes. Today, a "stabilisation frigate" would no longer be launched; whether a grotesquely expensive repair of the Gorch Fock would be possible in the current situation is open to question.
