With effect from 1 June 2023, Dr Dirk Steinbrink (57) will become a member of the Management Board of thyssenkrupp Marine Systems. As the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), he will assume overall responsibility for the areas of Engineering, Multi Project Management & Planning, Production, Quality Management and Research & Technology.

Dr Steinbrink comes from Braunschweigische Maschinenbauanstalt (BMA), an internationally active group of companies specialising in the development, production and sale of machinery, for example for sugar production and processing. The doctor of engineering has had overall responsibility as CEO there since 2018. Prior to this, he held strategic management positions at the listed French cable manufacturer Nexans for many years, most recently as global Chief Technology Officer (CTO), responsible for research & development and the German business, among other things.

Dr Dirk Steinbrink has many years of management and transformation experience, not only in international organisational and ownership structures, but also in medium-sized companies.
