Even under the new US President Joe Biden, the USA is not changing its previous policy of freedom of the seas. Demonstratively, the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group (TRCSG) entered the South China Sea on 23 January, just a few days after Biden took office. According to the US Navy, routine tasks will be carried out there. These include, in particular, exercises with the jets and helicopters on board, but also tactical exercises with the other ships in the strike group. The TRCSG currently consists of the aircraft carrier itself, the Ticonderoga cruiser "Bunker Hill", and the Arleigh Burke destroyers "Russell" and "John Finn". Carrier Air Wing 11 is embarked on board the Roosevelt.
