US Navy personnel receive vaccination without registration

Since the end of last week, up to 500 people at Norfolk Naval Base and Naval Air Station Oceana have been able to be vaccinated against the coronavirus every day without an appointment. This is in addition to the regular vaccinations that are offered to certain units on a voluntary basis. The additional vaccinations are issued on the basis of first-come, first serve. The vaccination takes about five minutes, plus a subsequent waiting time of a quarter of an hour. The vaccinations are open to all soldiers and civilians in the armed forces. As of 21 April, almost 146,000 members of the navy had already received both doses required for full protection, with a further 70,000 receiving their first vaccination.
