Indo-Pacific Deployment: Invitation to tender for voyages on board the Indo-Pacific Association of the German Navy
Since May 2024, the frigate "Baden-Württemberg" and the task force provider "Frankfurt am Main" have been underway as part of the Indo-Pacific Deployment (IPD) until December 2024. The IPD association's next major project is participation in the RIMPAC (Rim of the Pacific) naval manoeuvre. This major maritime exercise is considered the largest in the world. It is planned and carried out every two years by the US 3rd Fleet. Almost 30 nations take part in RIMPAC 2024. This year's exercise will take place from 29 June to 2 August 2024 in the central Pacific Ocean around the Hawaiian Islands. The German Navy wants to give media representatives the opportunity to be up close and personal to report on the Indo-Pacific Deployment. Embarked media teams will have the opportunity to accompany the crews of the two ships and thus gain a direct insight into the operation. It is now possible to apply for the following slots: 1. Honolulu (USA) - Tokyo (JPN), 03.08 - 20.08.24 2. Tokyo (JPN) - Incheon (KOR), 25.08 - 06.09.24* Furthermore, it is explicitly possible to conduct an interview (in writing, by telephone or stream) with the commanding officer at sea, Flotilla Admiral Schulz, at any time.
