Work has begun on the 2.8 billion euro project to build and lay the first electricity cable between the UK and Germany. This will connect two of Europe's largest energy markets for the first time, also a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Cooperation partner NeuConnect Deutschland GmbH, based in Wilhelmshaven, is responsible for all aspects of the NeuConnect interconnector project, including the approval process, construction phase and operation on the German side.
