Royal Navy: Collision in the harbour of Bahrain

LONDON - Two British Royal Navy minesweepers have collided while manoeuvring in Bahrain harbour, according to the local Ministry of Defence. It happens in every navy in the world - and many a day on the bridge of a warship is a "bad day in the office" that really wasn't needed. This is what has now happened to the Royal Navy, and with all the media reporting on it, we can't escape it. Ukraine will not be able to participate in the mine clearance operation agreed between the Black Sea navies of Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria. As expected, Turkey has told its NATO allies that it will not allow the two minehunting units (M108 HMS "Grimsby" and M112 HMS "Shoreham") handed over to Ukraine by the UK to transit its waters through the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits. Turkey is referring to the Montreux Convention, which regulates transit even in times of war. Although the agreement excludes ships returning to their home harbours, neither Russia nor Ukraine have had any intention of allowing ships to pass through the...

The coalition warned that the attacks were "illegal, unacceptable and deeply destabilising"...
