Maritime solidarity: MTS Parow donates €25,000 to good causes!

From 25 November to 19 December, members of the Parow Naval Technology School ran their traditional naval punch stall at the Stralsund Christmas market on the initiative of the NCO interest group. The maritime classic enjoyed great popularity, far beyond the regional borders. With a great deal of personal commitment and in their free time, the members of the MTS Parow were able to raise an impressive €25,000. The proceeds will now be distributed to regional charitable organisations that are particularly committed to helping children and young people. The organisations supported include the children's and youth hospice, the Stralsund music school and the support association for people with dementia. This fantastic campaign once again demonstrates the strong...

Rheinmetall ship simulators for naval training

Rheinmetall supplies new ship simulators for naval training The defence and technology group Rheinmetall handed over the first of seven simulation systems for the Naval Operations School (MOS) in Bremerhaven in 2024. The so-called Training Equipment for Training Navigation (AATN) is intended to enable decentralised, on-site training. In addition to Bremerhaven, further facilities are being built in Flensburg (MSM), Wilhelmshaven, Kiel, Eckernförde and Warnemünde. The ceremonial handover of the third ship simulator in Warnemünde took place in January 2025. The AATN facility enables interdisciplinary nautical training for all ranks and careers. This includes bridge management, communication and basic training. The event on the grounds of the Hohe Düne base was well attended and took place in a relaxed atmosphere.

Novelty in Stralsund: three tenders at once

Three tenders for International Women's Day Good ideas usually come from networking. One of these meetings is the Navy's annual historical-tactical conference, which is a great place to socialise. You meet this person and that, talk about this, that and, above all, the other. In conversation with former members of the fast boat squadron, word got around that three supply ships - including a fast boat tender - were planning to call at Stralsund's city harbour at the beginning of March, to coincide with International Women's Day. What followed was pragmatism: we have an idea, we see who wants to take part and organise an event that presents the navy in a rather atypical port. To the...
