Corvettes receive 3D radars from Hensoldt

As the company in Taufkirchen has announced, the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) has placed an order for the modernisation of two class 130 corvettes. The replacement deliveries will take place in the course of this year. The TRS-3D is a three-dimensional multimode ship radar for air and sea surveillance that can correlate the position and movement data of targets with the HENSOLDT identification system MSSR 2000 I, thus improving the automatic identification of ships and aircraft.

With more than 60 radars in operation, the TRS-3D is the market leader worldwide. Not only the Class 130 corvettes, but also the National Security Cutters of the US Coast Guard, a number of Littoral Combat Ships of the US Navy as well as ships of the Finnish Navy and the Norwegian Coast Guard are equipped with it.
