FGS Berlin supplies Spanish frigates

On 5 March, the task force supplier Berlin Wilhelmshaven and is currently on his way to the theatre of operations. It will soon join the EU Operation Irini and monitor compliance with the arms embargo off the coast of Libya. Until then, Commander Stefan Klatt and his crew have used the time to bring their skills up to date. Today, 13 March, the Berlin a RAS manoeuvre with the frigates Victoria and Numancia. Fuel was handed over to the Spanish ships.
Both frigates belong to the Santa Maria-class and were put into service at the end of the 1980s. With a length of 139 metres, they displace around 3600 tonnes. The armament includes a Mk-13 launcher for Harpoon and SM-1 as well as a 75-millimetre gun from Oto Melara.
