Now they are all returning to their home ports: whether it's the task force supply ship "Berlin", the minehunter "Dillingen" or the frigate "Hamburg" - on Friday, 19 December 2025: Christmas Eve, the crews will be at home.

The ship under the command of Frigate Captain Alexander Timpf was part of the NATO Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG1). The commander emphasises the high flexibility, professionalism and strong cohesion of the crew, which made a visible contribution to Germany's reliability in NATO. During its deployment, the "Hamburg" crossed the Arctic Circle several times and proved its seaworthiness under difficult conditions. During the "Neptune Strike" manoeuvre in particular, the frigate was able to demonstrate its capabilities and contribute to security in European waters. In October, at the request of Denmark, it supported air surveillance and security for the EU summit in Copenhagen.
The cooperation with NATO partners, in particular with the US aircraft carrier "USS Gerald R. Ford", enabled the crew to gain valuable experience in the interaction of different military capabilities. The commander emphasises the importance of the mission for the security of the sea lanes and stability in Europe. He thanks both the crew for their achievements and their families for their support.
