Munich Security Conference: Bundeswehr Command and Staff College as a partner

Bundeswehr Command and Staff College now a partner of the Munich Security Conference

Rear Admiral Ralf Kuchler, Commander of the Command and Staff College, and Dr Benedikt Franke, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Munich Security Conference.

The Bundeswehr Command and Staff College and the Munich Security Conference signed an agreement on 15 February 2026. The cooperation represents a benefit for the training of officers and the development of military leaders.

During the signing ceremony at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich, Rear Admiral Ralf Kuchler, Commander of the Command and Staff College, said: "It is an honour and a distinction for us to be an active part of the world-renowned security conference." MSC's Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Benedikt Franke, signed on behalf of the MSC. Dr Franke would like to continue and intensify the cooperation with the Leadership Academy. "You've not only got your foot in the door at the MSC, you've already walked through it," said Dr Franke, referring to the first participation of an LGAN. The course itself came to a thoroughly positive conclusion: "The opportunity to be able to move so freely on the MSC is very probably a 'once in a lifetime' experience."

The Bundeswehr Command and Staff College was already involved in the MSC this year. Participation in the side event on the topic of "Conversation on NATO's Article 5 and the Human Costs of War" took place at the initiative of Federal Minister of Health Nina Warken. There was also a direct exchange with Ukrainian frontline soldiers, Chiefs of Defence and security experts. Participation in the MSC will therefore be part of the training of future top military personnel.
