From a press release by the naval command in Rostock:
Federal Minister of Defence visits Rostock corvette squadron and welcomes "Elbe" returning from NATO deployment
On Friday, 17 December 2021, the new Federal Minister of Defence, Christine Lambrecht, will visit the 1st Corvette Squadron in Warnemünde during the morning. During her visit to the troops, she will also welcome the tender "Elbe", which is returning from deployment after almost six months.
Great station on the corvette "Oldenburg"
The Inspector of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kay-Achim Schönbach, together with the Commander of the 1st Corvette Squadron, Frigate Captain Kenneth Harms, and the Commander of the "Echo" crew, Frigate Captain Thorsten Schäfer, will welcome the Minister on board the corvette "Oldenburg".
What the navy can do
After a short round of talks, Minister Lambrecht will be presented with a simulated combat exercise on board by the crew of the corvette. During this exercise, almost all crew members are involved in their various functions at different work levels. This exercise will end on the bridge of the "Oldenburg", where the Federal Minister will welcome the tender "Elbe" from the bridge dock. After a press statement on the flight deck of the corvette, the soldiers from the naval battalion and the Naval Special Forces Command from Eckernförde will present some of their skills on deck.
Entry inspection of the "Elbe" and discussions with the crew
The Minister will then accompany the entry muster of the tender "Elbe" and address the crew. This will be followed by a round of talks between the Minister and the servicemen and women. The Minister's visit to the Navy will end around midday.
