Seamen's Sunday digital:

The museum year 2020 and the status of the project "Reconceptualisation of the German Naval Museum"

4 February 2021, 3:00 - 4:00 pm

The so-called "Seemannssonntag" (Sailors' Sunday) - based on the naval tradition of the same name - takes place regularly on the first Thursday of the month. The focus here is on information from the museum about the museum as well as topics related to German naval history and dialogue with interested participants. For some time now, this has no longer been able to take place in the museum café with a hot drink and a slice of cake, but we are still keeping up this tradition, which is now also a museum tradition, and continue to organise this event digitally - also with coffee and cake for self-catering.

On 4 February, museum director Dr Stephan Huck will review the 2020 museum year and look ahead to 2021. In particular, he will be discussing the various projects of the new concept. Topics include the new permanent exhibition, the concept for which is currently being worked on diligently behind the scenes, the renovation of the outdoor area and our traditional sailing ship, the sailor's training boat "Nordwind".
