Diehl Defence will once again be present at the Singapore Airshow in 2022, underlining the growing importance of the Asian market for military aviation products. Diehl Defence will exhibit its medium-range ground-based air defence system, IRIS-T SLM, as well as the IRIS-T air-to-air missile at its stand in the Changi Exhibition Centre. Only at the end of last year, the IRIS-T SLM air defence system demonstrated its capabilities in test launches under realistic operational conditions.
In addition to ammunition, Diehl Defence will also be presenting an exhibit from the HPEM (High Power Electromagnetic) systems division at its stand: "HPEM - SkyWolf". The system can be used to protect events, critical infrastructure and military operations from drone threats.
In Asia, Diehl Defence is already a reliable partner of the Thai Air Force, which has integrated the IRIS-T into its Saab Gripen fighter jets. IRIS-T was also selected as the short-range armament for the KF-21 fighter jet of Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI). This cooperation has been further strengthened. In addition, Diehl Defence has joined forces with the Australian company Electro Optic Systems Pty Ltd (EOS) as part of an industrial partnership.
