Public swearing-in and ceremonial swearing-in of the recruits of the Naval Operations School
On Wednesday, 30 October 2024 at 4 p.m., 199 soldiers will be publicly sworn in by the Commander of the Naval Operations School, Captain Andreas Seidl, at the fishing port in Bremerhaven. 86 regular soldiers and 113 voluntary conscripts will take the oath to serve the Federal Republic of Germany faithfully and to valiantly defend the law and the freedom of the German people.
After completing the first part of their training, many of them are transferred to navy ships and boats, where they are urgently needed because the navy is short of personnel. Some of them will also go on to further training programmes.
The soldiers began their basic training on 16 August 2024 and 1 October 2024 in the basic training inspectorates of the Naval Operations School. The recruits come from all over Germany.
Relatives of the recruits, guests from politics, business and other representatives of public life from the district of Cuxhaven, the seaside town of Bremerhaven and the towns of Geestland are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony and public pledge of the recruits.
