Thank you, corvette "Magdeburg" and tender "Elbe"!

The units of Flotilla 1 represented the German Navy for a week at the Kiel Week and the Day of the German Armed Forces in Stralsund 

On behalf of all servicemen and women, reservists, volunteers, helpers and relatives, we would like to thank the crews of the corvette "Magdeburg" and the tender "Elbe" for their commitment to Kiel Week and Armed Forces Day. Also the Naval Air Wing 5, the naval battalion and many more!

Rides with visitors are exhausting, but it's also a highlight to finally be able to show what you can do. Nice encounters, relaxed visitors and great weather. As a crew, you also get very close to the "tops" of the navy and this time there was even a marriage proposal on the "Magdeburg" at the end of a trip. What more could you want! At the end of the week, the "Magdeburg" and the "Elbe" moved swiftly to Stralsund for the Day of the German Armed Forces, where they also demonstrated their skills on behalf of the entire German Navy.

By the way: the Magdeburg is currently one of two corvettes reported fully operational for NATO. A special feature was that the aft weapon stations were "armed" when entering and leaving the harbour.
