Admiral Kriebel Prize goes to best female technical officer

The commander of the naval aviators, Captain Bobzin, invited his officers to the traditional Commanders Call as part of the coronavirus pandemic. As in previous years, the Naval Officers' Association's best prize, which is awarded to the best junior officer in the technical groups, was presented at this event.

Firstly, Captain Bobzin welcomed the officer corps and informed them about what had happened at the naval air base and what had been achieved in recent weeks, particularly with regard to the introduction of new systems. The two Commodores then reported on important events in the squadrons.

As the highlight of the event, the regional representative of the Naval Officers' Association, Captain Ottmüller, honoured Lieutenant Captain Julia Sälzer as the chosen prizewinner.

The prizewinner

Lieutenant Captain Julia Sälzer prevailed in a direct comparison with the technical officers deployed at the site. Ms Sälzer attracted attention early on when she was awarded the Admiral Johannesson Prize during her officer training due to her above-average commitment and continuous top performance. She went on to study aerospace engineering, graduating with a master's degree, before going on to excel in specialised advanced training courses.witnessed. In 2018, she successfully completed her training as an aircraft engineering officer and was then assigned to the Technical Squadron of Naval Air Wing 5, where she was responsible for the Sea King helicopter. Since February 2020, she has been a Technical Operations Officer on the staff of the Technical Group, where she is characterised by her strong leadership, creativity and visible enjoyment of her job.

Before the drinks reception sponsored by the Naval Officers' Association began with good conversation, the award winner's plaque was placed on the board of the previous award winners in the Admiral Kriebel Lounge of the Officers' Mess in Nordholz.
