Aircraft carrier encounters sail training ship

And here is a short message about a beautiful photo: The British Royal Navy Carrier Strike Group 21 (CSG 21) is now in the Middle East to conduct exercises with friendly Gulf neighbours. The F-35s are to work together with the air forces of Oman and the United Arab Emirates in the Persian Gulf.

The HMS Queen Elisabeth encountered the Shabab Oman II, the sail training ship of the Oman Navy. The sailing ship has been part of the permanent training programme for Omani cadets since 2014, was built in Romania and fitted out in the Netherlands (Damen Shipyards). She is 87 metres long, 11 metres wide and has a sail area of 2,700 square metres. With 58 crew members, 34 cadets can be trained.
