Being a naval officer was and still is not just a profession, but a vocation. The book Kurs Marine, edited by our former inspector, Vice Admiral (ret.) Wolfgang Nolting on behalf of the Marine-Offizier-Vereinigung e.V., traces the basic lines of German naval history and provides answers to the questions of maritime identity and self-positioning. Where are the historical and ideational anchorages of the navy and thus also of the MOV? What ethical awareness has been developed over the decades? How do we put these special values into practice? Individual authors - from first lieutenants to admirals as well as military chaplains - provide us with an insight into the inner structure of our navy through their experiences, challenges and the leadership philosophy practised in operations since the 1990s.
This is not only a "handbook" for all members of the German Navy, but for all those who are interested in the maritime past, present and future.
The book can be purchased at a special price of €21.50 including shipping exclusively by members of the Marine-Offizier-Vereinigung e.V. can be purchased via the MOV shop under the member login or directly from the office in Wilhelmshaven. The purchase is limited to one copy per member limited. Not yet a MOV member?
