The Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG 1) is a permanent NATO maritime task force. Within the NATO command structure, it is subordinate to Allied Command Operations (ACO/SACEUR, Mons/Belgium) and is led by Allied Maritime Command, MARCOM for short, in Northwood, UK. The organisation currently consists of the six frigates FGS Sachsen, FS Auvergne, FS Bretagne, HNLMS Van Amstel, HNOMS Fridjtof Nansen and NRP D. Francisco de Almeida.
