The Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG 1) is a permanent NATO maritime task force. It is subordinate to Allied Command Operations within the NATO command structure and is led by Allied Maritime Command, or MARCOM for short, in Northwood, Great Britain. The organisation currently consists of the six frigates FGS Sachsen, FS Auvergne, FS Bretagne, HNLMS Van Amstel, HNOMS Fridjtof Nansen and NRP D. Francisco D. Almeida. Francisco D. Almeida.
