Iran is the preferred supplier of missiles for the Venezuelan navy - the Armada Bolivariana de Venezuela. A number of CM-90 maritime target missiles (range 90 kilometres) were recently purchased there, including the support facilities (workshops) and training required to operate and deploy these missiles.
These weapons can now also be used to equip the PEYKAAP fast patrol boat platforms that were also acquired by Iran last year, as reported. The exchange of Western weapons systems and platforms with those of friendly countries - not many, especially Russia and Iran, but also China when the opportunity arises - is thus progressing. Venezuela is also interested in the Iranian Shahed drones, which will probably also be seen in South America in the near future under the name "Zamora V-1", assuming there are any stocks of them available in Iran at the moment. The video shows a tour of the workshop in Puerto Cabello by Defence Minister Padrino López.
